Hello World! I'll be your guide today.

put together an EP

You’re Back? You were gone? Who are you? Who’s on first? (Third Base!)

Hey guys, I’m back.

What?  You didn’t know I had gone?  Oh, ok.

Well, I was, gone that is.  Now I’m back.  Ok, so now you’re caught up.

I went home for the weekend, for a family gathering.  This is the one we host every year and hoards of relatives swarm to our farm in the middle of nowhere/middle of everywhere.  Okay, just kidding, we don’t have that many relatives.  It’s always fun though, and it’s always nice to see the fam who mostly live in Ancaster and around Hamilton there, so I don’t see them very often.  I got caught up on some of the news, ate a lot, drank lots of punch (my mom’s famous for it haha), watched the little tykes run around/wrestle/play games/fall all over the place, ate a lot, watched about two minutes of The Little Mermaid before the little tykes got bored and continued with their aforementioned activities, oh and did I mention I ate a lot?  Well, yes, yes I did.  I’m pretty sure I gained five pounds by the end of the night.

Why am I telling you this?  I forget.

No matter, I’ll just tell you what else I did recently.  I submitted a few photos to a friend of a friend for use in a documentary film done by Career Services at Queen’s University.  I did some coaching today, then got a whackload of fruit when I went grocery shopping.  Umm, clearly I haven’t done much other than go home and come back.  I’ve started working with the music program Audacity to put together a track Echo Lane (the band I’m in) might work on later, and found another recording from a while ago that I kinda like and might fiddle around with a bit.  I love being able to do things with that program, though I’m still pretty new to it, so I find myself troubleshooting a fair portion of the time.

The band (a.k.a. Echo Lane a.k.a. Mike and I) has been planning to put together an EP, or a full-length CD.  We’re still thinking about how things will work, considering I’ll be in Barrie in less than two weeks, and he’ll still be here in Kingston.  Like I pointed out to him though, already when we record things, we tend to send most of our stuff back and forth via the net already so hopefully it won’t be too much of a problem.  Since I’ll be in classes and whatnot with group project responsibilities etc. during the year, I made him promise to try to come visit.  Hopefully anything that needs sorting out can be done then.  We’re still not sure if we want a 4-song EP or a full-length, or maybe something in between.  If you have suggestions, let’s hear ’em.

Today I had the unique experience of describing what a sloth is to a group of girls ranging in age from 5 to 9 or so.  Think about it; you pretty much have to demonstrate a sloth to do its species justice.  I love making a fool of myself to kids, and I think they like it too  😉

I have Google Analytics, and I love the program.  It satisfies my stalkerish tendencies 😉 haha, well, honestly, it kinda does.  I love finding out where the people who visit my site are from, what kinds of entries are read, etc., etc., and it’s the perfect program for that.  I’ve noticed lately there have been a couple of “returning visitors” who have been visiting with some regularity (or at least there have been a few in those specific areas who have been alternating or something), and I wanted to say hi and thanks to my Etobicoke and Burlington friends 😀 I hope sometime you’ll leave me a comment and introduce yourselves, because I love the interaction that stems from such random discoveries.  I hope you like what you read, and if there is ever anything you’d like to see more of, just let me know and I’ll do my best to keep you interested in coming back 🙂

Well, I think the nap fairies have come to pay me a visit, so I shall retire for the afternoon.  Have a great day everyone!

P.S.  In reference to my title, here’s a lil’ classic comedy for my baseball fans or anyone who likes a good laugh 🙂
