Out Of My Mind

I thought a lot
about what you said
about what you meant

if you came along
in another time
I still would’ve seen you
still would’ve loved you
but the time was wrong
oh, the time was wrong

will you come again
in another life
will you grace my world
with your smile
will it mean as much
as it does now?

and I hurt so bad
but it’s not the end of me this time
this time
this time

can’t get you out of my mind
why can’t I get you out of my mind
can I get you out of my mind
oh, my mind
out of my…..
can I get you out of my mind (x3)
been waiting too long
can I get you out of my mind
been waiting too long
waiting too long

life without you doesn’t mean a thing
doesn’t mean a thing

get out of my head
get out of my head
get out of my head

I’m not alone
I’m not alone

Fauna

I look to either side of me
and see walls of earth
I’m surrounded
nestled
and I’m very happy

here crawl the critters
too shy to roam alone
on every platform, every ridge
of stark overhanging rock
lies a home
and if they could walk the world
you know they would
to explore the beauty of every peak

defenseless and white
it’s only fitting they rest
upon this healed landscape
adding tiny flecks of grace
to this beautifully scarred face

The Tea Party Lyrics — “Soulbreaking”

The Tea Party

“Soulbreaking”

If fate holds a purpose
You feel fate will lend a hand
It saves face deserts you
It deals grace from underhand
And every time the past’s awakened
Every time your soul starts breaking

You can’t stand the distance
You can’t stand to not be afraid
You won’t show resistance
You can’t seem to run away
‘Cause every time the past’s awakened
Every time your soul starts breaking

In the face of the fire
You see angels conspire
Will they hear you desires
Will they stop your soulbreaking
Could they stop your soulbreaking

You won’t say you’re hurting
You still dream in the undertow
Just a safe place: a haven
Just a kind face just to overthrow
Every time the past’s awakened
Every time your soul starts breaking

In the face of the fire
You see angels conspire
Will they hear your desires
Will the stop your soulbreaking
Could they stop your soulbreaking
Will they stop your soulbreaking
Could they stop your soulbreaking
Please love

Every time the past’s awakened
Every time my soul starts breaking

Fourflight

twice I watched my number pass
felt the crumbles of the blast
siphoned, mirrored, filed away
sickening by this light of day
parachutes of older grace
pick me up, cradle my face
I’m dying by the light of mourn
repelling with the scent of scorn
a patient man has never seen
the light of me, the plight of me
so sit still while I peck into
my scorching hands, Beautiful Blue
words that letters really ought
not touch the pearls that teach you naught
have wrung my hands into a knot
and teach me what shouldn’t be taught

October

the legs are dying
wailing protests to no one and everyone
they know, too
but doesn’t sorrow have its place?
defending pieces of its grace?
it separates
and heeds the barrels’ breaks

touch of gold leaf
borrows a creed for old times’ sake
it falls, too
so when upon our presences falls
the living breathing free-for-all?
the flying, dipping leather ball
it balances
and awaits the final call
